How to cook meat pies from puff pastry in the oven

To prepare 18 pies, you will need a half-kilogram package of puff pastry and 500 grams of minced meat. It is convenient when the dough is packaged into sheets of 250 grams.

Before cooking, the puff pastry needs to be defrosted; the most convenient way is to keep it for about half an hour at room temperature. During this time, the dough will melt and become soft. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin as thin as possible. You need to roll out the dough on a work surface that has been previously dusted with flour, otherwise the rolled out dough will stick and tear when working with it. You need to roll it into the right square, using a rolling pin to even out the edges. And then use a pizza cutter or regular cutter to cut the square into nine equal pieces. From each square-shaped part you will get a triangular-shaped pie.

Place a tablespoon (approximately) of minced meat into the middle of the dough square.

Connect the edges to form a triangle.

Using a fork, press the edges of the triangle against the edge of the dough with its cloves.

In this way, form all 18 pies.

Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Brush with beaten egg using a silicone brush.

Bake pies with meat from puff pastry in a heated oven (180 C) for about twenty minutes. The products may stick to the parchment paper, so that they do not tear, do not tear them off by force. Let the parchment lie outside the baking sheet for a while, after which the pies will easily separate from the paper.

With the advent of ready-made puff pastry, making pies and puff pastries has become even easier. Today we will prepare with you meat pies with a delicious minced meat filling in puff pastry.

Finely chop the onion.

Grate the carrots on the finest grater.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and fry the onions over high heat, stirring (5 minutes).

Add carrots to the onion, reduce heat. Stir-fry for another 5 minutes.

Add minced meat to the pan, add salt and season with hops-suneli. Fry the meat, kneading and stirring with a fork so that large lumps do not form, for about 15 minutes. It is best to prepare your own minced meat; to do this, take beef (or veal) and pork in equal proportions and pass them through a meat grinder.

Boil the eggs hard and chop finely.

Mix the finished minced meat with chopped chicken eggs and get the filling for the pies.

The easiest way to use the dough is to use ready-made puff pastry, which is what I did. Roll it out and cut it with a knife, I use a special dough cutter.

Lightly and carefully stretch each piece of dough with your hands and place 2 teaspoons of cooled filling on it.

We wrap and pinch the edges of the dough to form a pie.

Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the meat pies. If desired, you can sprinkle them with sesame seeds. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, place a baking sheet in it and cook for 30 minutes.

Serve ready-made puff pastries with meat for tea. Very tasty and filling.

Bon appetit!

Each layer is cut into four parts. One package makes eight servings of pies per baking sheet. You will need four packages in total.

Take out the dough and leave it in a warm place to defrost.

Rinse the beef and place a large one-kilogram piece on a cutting board. Cut off a small part, cut it into plates, each of them into strips, and then into cubes.

Chop all the pulp and place it in a large bowl or basin.

Option 5: Puff pastries with meat “Kids”

An unusual recipe for meat pies. What is the difference? In the formation of the baked goods themselves, the finished portions are not molded with filling - first a long roll is made, which is divided into equal parts. Ready-made portioned pies turn out small, literally like babies. The edges are not secured, baked as is.

Ingredients:

  • five hundred grams of puff pastry;
  • one chicken egg for minced meat;
  • five hundred grams of any minced meat;
  • two tablespoons of breadcrumbs;
  • half an onion;
  • two cloves of garlic;
  • teaspoon of dry mustard;
  • two tablespoons of chopped dill;
  • five grams of salt;
  • one chicken egg for brushing;
  • one tbsp water.

Step by step recipe

Immediately set the oven to preheat to 220 C and defrost our dough. You can also cover the baking sheet with paper so that we can place our baby pies on it.

In a large bowl, combine minced meat, breadcrumbs, crushed garlic, and chopped onion.

Sprinkle with herbs, spices, and add a beaten chicken egg.

Stir the filling thoroughly until smooth.

The minced meat should be divided into six equal parts.

Cut the dough into two parts. We roll one of them into a large rectangle, cut it into three more elongated parts. You get strips of dough.

Place one portion of filling into each strip. That is three out of six. Distribute along the entire length.

Roll each strip around the filling. Makes three long rolls.

Cut each roll into six equal pieces. We pierce each of them with a fork and place it on parchment.

Do the same with the rest of the dough and filling.

Break the egg in a bowl, add a tablespoon of water and stir with a fork.

Use a silicone brush to grease each pie.

The oven is ready, bake our baby pies for twenty minutes until golden brown.

Place the finished baked goods in a basket and cover with a towel.

What could be tastier than homemade pies? Homemade pies are prepared with love and soul, giving us a charge of vivacity and energy. And the indescribable taste and aroma remains in the memory for a long time.

Ingredients

  • assorted minced meat – 400-500 g (you can prepare it yourself or buy it ready-made in the store
  • onions – 2–3 pcs.
  • salt – 2 g
  • pepper – 1 g (you can take a mixture of peppers)
  • sheet puff pastry - 1 kg
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.

Preparation

1. First of all, prepare the filling for our pies. We twist the meat through a meat grinder.

2. Cut the onions into small cubes, or three on a coarse grater.

3. Next, add salt and pepper to taste. Mix all this well.

4. The secret of tasty minced meat is that the meat should be well filled with air. To do this, the finished cake of minced meat must be raised above the board several times and dropped, so the minced meat will become softer and looser and will absorb more seasonings and onions.

5. The next stage of preparation will be preparing the dough. Cut the puff pastry into squares or circles 10–15 cm in size. Place the prepared minced meat on the dough.

6. Form envelopes or cakes. Grease the finished semi-finished product with yolk and put it in the oven. It is better to preheat the oven in advance to reduce the baking speed. The average oven temperature during baking should be 180-200 0C.

7. In just 15-20 minutes the pies will be ready.

Secrets of the Mistress

1. The smaller the puff pastries, the better the raw minced meat will be baked in them. In addition, miniature triangles look elegant and aristocratic. It’s better to make just these for the holiday table. They are placed on a plate in a picturesque mound.

2. The surface of the puff pastry, greased before baking with a mixture of carefully shaken yolk and refined oil with a pinch of turmeric, will seem as if polished. Such a lubricant, in addition to being aesthetic, has another function: it keeps the surface of the finished product smooth and crisp for a long time, preventing the top from deforming.

3. Is the minced meat dry? This can be corrected: inside each lump of ground meat that serves as a filling for puff pastry, place a little well-frozen butter (the approximate size of a piece is a linen button). It gradually melts and, mixing with meat juice, soaks the minced meat, making it tender.

4. If the minced meat, on the contrary, is too fatty, you need to mix white polished rice with it, boiled until al dente. This technique is also used when it is discovered that there is not enough meat for the existing dough.

5. Puff pies are also filled with boiled twisted pork, beef, and chicken, but only fried onions are added to it.

Ready-made puff pastry is just a lifesaver. You can make some delicious things from it very quickly. Of course, it’s better to plan them in advance. As in the case of these pies, it’s better to make the filling a little earlier, but then baking the pies is a quick and easy task. The pies are light and airy, very crispy, and the filling is juicy, tasty and aromatic. itemprop=”ingredients”
