B4 to which troops. What troops can you count on being drafted into, with fitness category B4? What does the number "3" indicate?

Military service is a citizen’s duty, prescribed in the Constitution. However, its implementation depends not so much on the desire of the conscript, but on the state of his body. The health of young conscripts is measured by fitness categories. What the letter B and number 4 in the fitness category column mean is the topic of this article.

Main categories of suitability

The task of the members of the medical commission is to carefully examine their medical histories when examining recruits and determine whether a particular conscript is fit or unfit. There are 5 categories of letter meaning - A, B, C, D and D. Depending on the severity and forms of the identified diseases, these categories are divided into subcategories of digital designation - 1, 2, 3 and 4.

The first category A is awarded to those men who have no abnormalities, i.e. healthy. The last category D, on the contrary, is placed when the conscript is unable, due to health reasons, to perform all the duties of a military personnel. Between these extreme categories there are several intermediate ones. Below we will talk about the second one.

Category B

Let's consider what a young man of military age can count on if his illness falls under category B.

This category means that although health pathologies have been detected in the conscript, they will not prevent him from serving in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Such a person is considered fit for service, but with certain restrictions. The restrictions will affect the list of branches and names of troops in which this recruit will perform his military duties.

Remember! With such a category, there can be no talk of a deferment, much less a complete release from service. You will have to serve for the entire prescribed period - 12 months!

diseases" and includes a large number of diseases. That is why there are 4 modifications in the category. The degree of fitness for them is determined in descending order: guys with subcategory B4 have the lowest degree of physical activity. The choice of troops will also be the smallest.

Diseases of category B4

Below are some examples of medical diagnoses, or rather, varieties of their course, limiting the suitability of a conscript for the category in question:

  • Mild and short-term symptomatic mental disorders characteristic of an asthenic state, ending in recovery;
  • Neurotic disorders caused by stress;
  • Discirculatory encephalopathy stage I;
  • Diseases of the peripheral nervous system without impairment of basic functions;
  • Diseases of the eye muscles without signs of diplopia;
  • Congenital or acquired rheumatic heart disease with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction;
  • Some types of hernia, for example, small umbilical hernia, preperitoneal hernia;
  • Scoliosis II degree;
  • A history of indications for operations on internal organs without identified health consequences in the postoperative period (on the heart, lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys, etc.);
  • Moderate stuttering.

You probably know, but you might have forgotten! The hope of all hope for draft dodgers is scoliosis. This is because, according to statistics, about 95% of schoolchildren suffer from this disease. As for conscripts, for the majority, having this diagnosis will not help in any way to get a white ticket. Only the angle of curvature is greater than 17 degrees, which corresponds to the third degree of scoliosis, will allow one to obtain the coveted category D, meaning absolute unfitness for military service in time. A diagnosis of grade I or II will mean that you will still have to serve.

Which troops are recruited with category B4?

The degree of physical activity is the main indicator that is paid attention to when sending recruits to the military branches with the designation B4 in the fitness category column. Where can they be sent:

  1. Special structures specialists;
  2. Radio technical troops and communications troops;
  3. Security and defense units for combat missile systems.

It goes without saying that the requirements for such conscripts relative to others will be easier in terms of physical activity, vision and hearing. So, after the conclusions of an ENT doctor and an ophthalmologist, visual acuity should be at least 0.5/0.1, and whispered speech should be 5:5. Color weakness of 2 or 3 degrees (color blindness) is excluded for obvious reasons. A person's height should not exceed 180 cm.

You won’t answer right away! What are special structures? Such structures include civil buildings - sports stadiums, swimming pools, recreational facilities, etc.; transport - laying roads and railways, designing pipelines, bridges, etc.; hydraulic structures; bunkers, farms, silos and other agricultural buildings. In a word, these structures are not intended for people to live in.

In the case of signal troops, many conscripts, especially those with a desire to serve, consider them less worthy or prestigious than, say, airborne or tank units. Let's try to dispel this idea.

Signalmen are the nerves of the army!

“Don’t make noise infantry, don’t make dust tanker, somewhere under the bushes a signalman is sleeping quietly” - this was a saying that was coined by soldiers of other troops with a certain sense of humor. Among themselves, they believe that the main job of a signalman is

sit in front of computer monitors and press buttons. This fundamentally incorrect understanding of the work of signalmen in the army undeservedly diminishes the importance of their service. After all, the final results of exercises in which many army units are involved depend on the results of the work of signalmen. The uninterrupted work of a signalman is the key to the success of any army. Without established communication, the failure of a military operation is guaranteed. That is why signal troops are often called the nerves of the army.

In practice, signalmen, just like other military personnel, actively train, stand guard, dig trenches for laying cables, and carry heavy equipment. The knowledge acquired by signalmen in the army will be in demand after their military service. After all, today experienced specialists in the field of information technology are highly valued in the labor market. Every year on October 20, Russia celebrates Military Signalman Day.

Elite missile troops

The Missile Forces are among the TOP 5 most prestigious among conscripts. The secrecy of these troops lures young men with the opportunity to show off to friends after service. However, not everything is so rosy.

Only military officers who have undergone years of education and training at complex military complexes can operate missile launchers. The same secrecy of the base points of these troops means that they are located far from noisy populated areas. But spending your entire service life somewhere in the taiga is a mediocre prospect.

However, even menial jobs, such as driving or, in this case, guarding missile systems, will make the recruit's service interesting and eventful.

Differences between categories B3 and B4

  • Chemical Forces;
  • Anti-aircraft missile forces;
  • Guard troops of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation;
  • Divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Such soldiers can be assigned to the crews of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, given the duties of refueling military equipment or responsible for storing fuel and lubricants, and driving vehicles with missile launch charges.

It all depends on what differences were discovered in the conscript’s disease. For example, the designation B3 includes conscripts with symptoms of seasonal conjunctivitis, with slight deviations in farsightedness and myopia, with allergic rhinitis, non-chronic sinusitis with rare symptoms (no more than 2 times a year), with mild chronic bronchitis (without dysfunction), with osteochondrosis etc. All manifestations of this or that disease are clearly described.

What is the “Schedule of Diseases” and how to use it?

This is a regulatory document that is part of the “Regulations on Military Medical Examination” adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2003. This guideline is mandatory for compliance with the medical examination of young people of military age by members of the medical commission. The document is a table with a list of all ailments (86 articles with subparagraphs from 1 to 5), structured by article. Thus, with its help, the severity of a particular disease is revealed and the category and subcategory of suitability for military service is determined.

Below is part of the table from the “Schedule of Diseases” using the example of diseases of the blood and hematopoietic organs.

Important! In the third column of the Schedule there are columns - 1, 2 and 3. They are used to determine the category of citizens who will serve. The most used is the first column. She is one of those people who are called up for military service.

Let's give an example of how to use the Schedule. Such a common disease as gastritis has different manifestations. We find the section “Diseases of the Digestive Organs”, this is article No. 59, then go to point B under the description of this disease. It states that chronic gastritis with rare exacerbations (less than 2 times a year) corresponds to category B3.

Practice shows that often the medical board does not use the “Schedule of Diseases” at all, but simply carries out the agreed plan for the number of recruits (there is such a thing in the modern army). What to do in such cases, read further in this article.

The category is assigned incorrectly - what to do?

You can often hear justified complaints from conscripts that the medical board incorrectly assigned them a fitness category. This can happen for a number of reasons:

  1. Borderline, not clearly defined diagnosis of the disease;
  2. Error of diagnostic devices;
  3. Errors when examining the patient's tests;

Standards for the recruitment of recruits set by the authorities to the employees of the medical commission.

What to do if you do not agree with the opinion of the members of the military commission? Simply indignantly: “I have a serious heart disease or another vital organ,” you will not achieve anything. Most likely, such a conscript has not prepared all the necessary extracts and certificates to “prove” his diagnosis. There are several options here.

You can ask for a re-examination. In this case, you should collect the missing certificates, which will indicate a more serious level of the disease. You can write an application to a higher draft commission with a request to double-check the decision of the first commission.

The last option would be to go to court. During the trial, the conscript must take the most responsible approach to collecting the necessary information and be sure that the truth is on his side. During this period of time, no one has the right to take him into the army.

Conclusion

Russian President V.V. Putin made a statement in October 2017 that in the foreseeable future Russia will no longer be faced with the issue of urgently recruiting young people to serve in the army.

“We must keep in mind that we are gradually moving away from conscription service altogether,” Putin noted. According to him, the transition to contract service is going slower than planned due to budget constraints. “But, anyway, we are doing it and will continue to do it, so that a short time will pass when this issue will be irrelevant,” the President promised.

In the meantime, in the current conditions, you will still have to serve, although not for 18 months, as it was before, but only for one year. May these 12 months be eventful for all recruits who have been declared fit for such an honorable calling - to be a defender of the Fatherland!

Since army service requires from a conscript not only patriotism, but also health, determining the degree of suitability of a conscript for military service is a task of paramount importance. It is based on the results of the medical commission that a conclusion is issued on the category of compliance of the young man with the requirements of the armed forces. A future soldier in the army will have to not only shoot, but also make many kilometers of forced marches and endure other physical and mental stress, which may not be possible for soldiers with health problems.

After a medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office, the conscript is assigned a category of military fitness, which means which troops he can join and which ones will be closed.

What are the categories of military fitness of conscripts?

The legislative framework of the Russian Federation states that any citizen of the country (and foreigners too) has the full right to serve in the army. Different types of troops and military professions place certain demands on the health of conscripts, and it is for this gradation that there are categories of fitness for military service. They determine whether a conscript can serve without restrictions or is only fit for wartime.

It is worth noting that it is mainly disabled people and those suffering from mental disorders who are completely ineligible for military service. Previously, the list of diseases for which a conscript could be “rejected” was wider, but due to the fact that the service life decreased from 2 years to 1 year, the list of diseases was significantly reduced.

Classification of fitness categories in a military ID

In order to understand the meaning of the categories, it is enough to study the table that will help decipher the degrees of fitness in a military ID:

  1. Category “A1” means that the conscript has ideal health and external indicators. Such an applicant will be gladly accepted into the elite units. Unfortunately, there are practically no ideally healthy people, so conscripts of category “A1” very rarely end up in the army. All subparagraphs of category “A” (of which there are 4 in total) mean that the conscript is fully fit for the army;
  2. Category “B” means that the conscript can serve with some restrictions. Category “B4” is considered the last category under which a person can be drafted into the army under general conditions;
  3. Category “B” means that the conscript is fit for non-combatant service;
  4. If the column on the military ID contains category “G”, this means that the conscript is undergoing treatment and it is temporarily impossible to determine his category. In such cases he is granted a reprieve;
  5. Category “D” is complete unsuitability for conscription into the army under any conditions.

To know which branches of the military a particular conscript is suitable for, there is a special scale that indicates all the necessary requirements for service in specific types of troops.

Illness schedule table

To determine the degree of suitability, there is a special table of illnesses. It contains three columns. Each column is intended for a specific group:

  1. The first column is the most popular. It is intended for conscripts and citizens of pre-conscription age;
  2. The second column is intended for military personnel and reserve personnel;
  3. The third column is intended for contract soldiers.

A knowledgeable person, guided by this table, can easily determine which fitness category is written on his military ID and what it means.

Detailed description of category "A"

Conscripts who received category “A” can be proud of their health. They are suitable for service in special forces or marines. This category is divided into 4 subgroups:

  1. Category “A1” is currently quite rare. To comply with it, the conscript must not only have ideal health, but also be suitable in terms of external indicators. The most severe selection takes place in the airborne troops. For example, the height of an applicant for category “A1” must be between 170 and 185 centimeters and weigh up to 90 kilograms. Naturally, vision and hearing indicators must also be ideal;
  2. The second degree “A2” is given to conscripts who fully correspond to category “A1”, but who previously suffered a serious illness or had fractures that did not lead to a deterioration in health. In fact, this subcategory is no different from category “A 1”, but you cannot get into the Airborne Forces with such a category. They won’t take her into the Marines either;
  3. The third degree “A3” implies minor health deviations. Most often these are minor visual impairments. Mostly, holders of this category serve in the internal, missile or chemical forces;
  4. The fourth degree of category “A” implies vision problems that exceed 20 degrees. Despite this, a conscript can serve in any army except those listed above. All other health indicators, except vision, must be ideal.

If previously it was quite difficult to correct vision, then with the advent of laser correction, a conscript can easily change his fitness category. For example, changing the fitness category from fourth to second is a fairly simple procedure.

Detailed description of category "B"

Category “B” is the most common among military personnel and conscripts. Since most of the conscripts have some kind of health deviation, all of them are assigned category “B”. This category is divided into four groups, similar to category “A”:

  1. Category “B1” is assigned if the conscript suffers from a mild degree of any disease or allergy. These diseases cannot affect the general physical condition of the serviceman, therefore, with this category they are taken into assault brigades and border guards;
  2. Category “B2” is practically no different from the first category, except that the conscript, in addition to minor health problems, may have a small percentage of vision loss. With this category they are not hired as submariners, but you can fully count on the surface fleet. You can also get into tank crews and engineering troops;
  3. With category "B3" you can count on signal troops, engineering or chemical troops. “B3” is assigned to conscripts with varying degrees of allergies, slight hearing and vision loss (more in percentage terms than with category “B2”);
  4. Category “B4” is characterized by residual effects from previously suffered injuries and illnesses. In addition, military personnel in this category may have insufficient weight and height, as well as problems with hearing and vision. Such people, as a rule, are sent to serve in a construction battalion (now these troops are called military construction units) or signal troops.

Description of category "B"

If you are assigned category “B”, then you will not get into the army. This article means that the conscript is partially fit for military service. This restriction means that you can only be called up for service in time of war. The article implies a significant loss of health, which makes military service impossible (which implies almost 24-hour readiness to fulfill the duty of service).

Description of category "G"

Fitness category “G” is inherently the most uncertain. A conscript who has received this category is given a deferment, since at the time of the examination he has an illness or injury that requires treatment. But this article should not be considered a verdict. After completing a course of treatment and rehabilitation, a new category is assigned during a second medical examination, taking into account the current condition of the conscript. These can be categories “B” or “B”. There are cases when, after a second examination, a conscript was given category “A”.

Description of category "D"

Category “D” is the equivalent of a “white ticket”. A conscript of this category is not fit for military service under any circumstances. If you have this category on your military ID, it is very difficult to obtain a driver’s license.

Is it possible to change the eligibility category?

A special challenge procedure is provided for this. It is sometimes very necessary to challenge a category, because it may create problems in the future when getting a job or when obtaining a driver's license.

To challenge the decision of the draft commission, you must submit an application requesting a re-examination. Based on the results of the new survey, it is possible to challenge the decision of the draft commission.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below the article. We or our visitors will be happy to answer them

I am interested in martial arts with weapons and historical fencing. I write about weapons and military equipment because it is interesting and familiar to me. I often learn a lot of new things and want to share these facts with people who are interested in military issues.

When examining a conscript, only five categories are distinguished; to make them easier to distinguish, they are designated by letters. The digital index indicates the conscript’s suitability for military service. For example, fitness category B3 indicates that the conscript can serve on an equal basis with other military personnel, and there are no special restrictions on service, but it is unlikely that he will be able to get into the elite troops.

What does the letter "B" in the category indicate?

The category is established during a medical examination by a special commission, which determines whether the conscript is fit for military service or not. Any letter indicates restrictions on military service. The letter “B” indicates that the conscript has some deviations associated with minor health problems, but this does not mean at all that he cannot serve the Motherland and join the army. As a rule, category B3 for conscripts may indicate that the young man has minor dental problems, hemorrhoids or other diseases that are not serious, but this will not prevent him from serving.

Category B3 can be given even to people who have a predisposition to asthma, but this fact is taken into account when assigning to service. The conscript can still join the army. At the same time, for example, he will not be sent to a warehouse with chemical products, but he can be a driver. If a person has problems with the musculoskeletal system or minor visual and hearing impairments, then he may also be given category B3 in the army. What troops are available to him? Yes, almost everything that is included in category B3, except that he cannot be a driver. But he will be able to feel calm in the warehouse.

If there are minor problems with the circulatory system or heart, then this category is also issued, and the conscript can fully serve in the army in special units.

What does the number "3" indicate?

The commission not only determines the letter, but also puts a digital index on the military ID. For example, the letter and number indicate, when category B3 is given in the army, which troops may be available to the conscript. Most often this means that the young man is suitable for military service, but there are still some restrictions in certain branches of the military. Special troops and positions are selected for such conscripts, so when assigning them to service, all this must be taken into account. The letter designation and digital index are also displayed on the military ID.

What military professions are available under category B3?

Naturally, every conscript who has been assigned the B3 fitness category is interested in what position he will be able to hold and in which troops he will be sent to serve. Young people who fall under this category will be able to count on the following specialties:

If a conscript does not agree with the established category, he will be able to challenge the conclusion of the draft commission, even if category B3 is shown on the military ID. In any case, even after serving in the above-mentioned units, you can then get a job in law enforcement agencies. Of course, if a conscript wants to serve in the elite troops and then continue military work, then the category must be contested and raised, but this can only be done through the courts. Until the court resolves the dispute, the conscript cannot be drafted into the army.

Medical examination standards for category B3

A conscript who receives category B3 must meet the following medical examination standards:

Of course, each profession has its own requirements, so the commission must take them into account when distributing young people for military service in the army.

Features of category B3

Many people are interested in what category B3 gives in the army, which troops correspond to it. It should be noted that a young man who has received this category can safely serve in the army, but there will still be some restrictions on his service. A conscript can freely serve on guard, as well as in other units of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The category can only be set by a commission, so you won’t be able to determine it yourself, but in any case, the decision can always be challenged. Category B3 can be increased and, conversely, decreased, but this can only be done through the courts.

How to challenge category B3 through court

A special commission, which includes expert bodies, will be able to re-check whether the conscript was correctly assigned category B3 in the army and which troops are suitable for his service. They are the ones who control and examine the young man. Not only physical health will be taken into account, but also mental health, on the basis of this a conclusion is drawn about what type of activity the future fighter can be involved in. In order for the court to order a review of the category, it is also necessary to provide an objective reason. As a rule, such requests are made if it is necessary to reduce the category in order to obtain a deferment from service, or in some cases, complete release.

Many who go to serve in the army seriously think about the question of where they will take the B3 category, but there is no need to worry too much, since even with this category the choice of troops is quite extensive. As you can see, category B3 does not greatly limit the conscript and leaves him with almost all the same opportunities that other conscripts have. For example, many young people, having served in the army, then go to serve in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It will not be possible to get into elite units with this category, so this must be taken into account when passing the commission and immediately express disagreement with the category established by the commission.

Comments:

How to decipher fitness category B4? First of all, you should study the list of conscription categories. In this way, the citizen will know where he will be sent to serve. To issue permission to join the army, you must pass a commission. It is important to emphasize: if a conscript tries to evade conscription, he may face criminal or administrative liability.

In some cases, deferment or release from service is permitted. To do this, the conscript turns to a specialized company whose employees protect his interests. To be sent to the army, you need to undergo a medical examination, the process can be very lengthy. It is important for a conscript to know that transfer from the reserve to a category is impossible.

How is conscription carried out?

When a potential employee appears at the military registration and enlistment office, the fitness category is determined during the examination process. As a rule, it shows exactly where to assign the conscript. There are five categories of conscription, they are designated by the letters A, B, C, D, D. Some designations provide restrictions for employees. Fitness category B is assigned if a person has minor health difficulties, but they do not prevent him from serving; such ailments may include myopia. Conscripts with category B are often sent to special forces of the Russian Armed Forces. It is important to know the meaning of the number 4; in any case, it indicates fitness for military service (taking into account where and to what position the citizen will be sent).

If it is necessary to be sent to a radio engineering unit, the conscript must have good visual acuity of 0.5/0.1 and whispered speech of 5:5. To send military missile systems to the defense, a citizen must meet certain criteria and his visual acuity must be within 0.5/0.1. In some cases, you can appeal the decision of the military registration and enlistment office and upgrade your category. Sometimes a citizen is not accepted into the Marine Corps and Border Guard Forces, but his responsibilities are not limited to employment in law enforcement agencies.

  • B4 - means that a citizen is sent to guard missile systems. There is a possibility that the conscript will be sent to radio engineering units to guard special structures.
  • B3 are guard services. A conscript can be in chemical units, crews of infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled guns, as well as in anti-aircraft missile systems.
  • B2 is a category indicating belonging to the artillery. Tank crews and workers in submarines are called up for military service.
  • B1 - special forces, border service, airborne forces and marines.

B3 and B4: main differences

One of the most common is category B3. Such citizens can become soldiers in the crews of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, drivers of launchers, serve in military guard services and be specialists responsible for storing fuel. It is impossible to independently identify the reasons that will serve as the reason for evading the army. The suitability category can be changed, but this happens when it is sent again for diagnostics. A potential employee undergoes a series of examinations, during which his physical and mental health is analyzed, and then a fitness category is assigned. To correctly indicate it, it is necessary to use a digital breakdown. It is an indicator of whether a conscript can perform certain tasks and how he can be used by branch of the military.

Fitness category "B" - suitable with minor restrictions - is too broad. It includes a large group of both mild and severe diseases that allow the possibility of military service. Therefore, depending on the diagnosis of the conscript, the draft commission may assign him one of four modifications of this category: “B-1”, “B-2”, “B-3” or “B-4”.

I am Artem Tsuprekov, head of the human rights department of the Conscript Assistance Service. In this article I will tell you what fitness category “B” is, what modifications it is divided into and how to change fitness category “B” to “C”.

Categories of suitability for the army

All fitness categories at the military registration and enlistment office are determined according to a special document - It indicates diseases, anthropometric data and other information that makes it clear which fitness group corresponds to the health status of the conscript.

  • “A” – fit for military service. There are no restrictions on the type of troops in which it is recommended to serve.
  • “B” – fit for military service with minor restrictions. They relate to the selection of recommended troops, which are marked with a number after the letter of suitability.
  • “B” – limited fit for service. The young man receives a military ID and is sent to the reserve.
  • “G” – temporarily unusable. For some diseases, a temporary deferment is provided. When it ends, the conscript undergoes a second medical examination. If health improves, the conscript will be accepted into the army. If not, the young man will receive a second deferment or.
  • “D” – not fit for service. Completely removed from military registration. It is not called up either in peacetime or in wartime.

What does fitness category “B” mean?

Fitness category “B” is the most common of all fitness categories. It is indicated for diseases of various degrees and stages, in the presence of borderline diagnoses, as well as insufficient preparation for conscription activities.

Most diseases from the Schedule of Diseases fall into this category. To prevent conscripts with diagnoses of different severity from ending up in the same troops, a destination indicator was introduced for this category. It divides the suitability category into four subgroups: “B-1”, “B-2”, “B-3”, “B-4”.

Expert opinion

Often category “B” is given to a conscript if he provided an insufficient number of medical documents or if they were ignored. If you do not agree with the decision of the military registration and enlistment office, find out how to change your fitness category and obtain an exemption from service on the "" page.

Ekaterina Mikheeva, head of the legal department of the Assistance Service for Conscripts

Suitability categories “B-1” and “B-2”

Categories “B-1” and “B-2” are assigned to young people with minor health problems: mild forms of allergies and other chronic diseases that do not cause serious problems in the functioning of organs.

  • Marines,
  • Special Forces,
  • Airborne and airborne infantry divisions,
  • border troops.
  • submarine and surface fleet,
  • among drivers and crew members of tanks, self-propelled guns, and engineering vehicles.

These troops include young people with excellent physical fitness and special anthropometric data. All additional indicators can be found in a special appendix to.

Fitness category "B-3"

What is the validity of "B-3"? The greatest interest among conscripts is in the “B-3” health category, since this group is the broadest and includes almost all conscription diseases. This category is indicated for minor dysfunctions of any organs, cured diseases and residual effects of various diseases and fractures. A conscript with category “B-3” is fit for the army, but with restrictions on physical activity.

With the "B-3" fitness category, they can be drafted into the army as a driver and crew member of infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and missile launchers, as a specialist in fuel and lubricants units and other chemical units, as well as in the management and maintenance of anti-aircraft missile systems.

Those with the service category “B-3” are not accepted into elite troops and special forces. With it you cannot end up in the Marine Corps, Airborne Forces, Airborne Forces and Border Troops. Since the designation indicators for degree “B-3” are lower than those for holders of “A”, “B-1” and “B-2”, the level of physical activity during service will also be lower.

Table 1. Basic health indicators for category “B-3” in the military ID.

Indicator (draft group B3)

Meaning

Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Anti-aircraft gunners, fuel and lubricants parts Drivers and crew members of infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, launch systems
Height more than 155 cm up to 180 cm up to 180 cm
without correction 0,5/0,1 0,5/0,1 0.5/0.1 – for drivers;

0.8/0.4 – for crew

Speech in a whisper 6/6 5/5 6/6 – for drivers;

1/4 or 3/3 – for crew

Color vision disorders none none none

Fitness category "B-4"

If “B-3” is a fitness category that requires moderate physical activity, then with the “B-4” modification their degree is even lower. When receiving the B-4 fitness category, the army cannot be avoided either, but the choice of type of troops will be seriously limited. A young man can be sent to radio engineering units, security and defense of missile systems and other types of troops/units that do not impose serious demands on the health of military personnel.

The basic requirements for the anthropometry and health of a conscript when assigning the “B-4” fitness category can be found in Table 2.

How to change the “B” fitness category on a military ID?

During a medical examination, conscripts with a borderline diagnosis often receive category “B-4” or “B-3” instead of category “B” and go to serve in the army. This problem is especially relevant in the second half of the draft, when military commissariats are puzzled by the implementation of the plan for manning the army.
